The following information appears in the Manage location window:
- Location information
- This information defines the location and basic capability information.
- Priority and Proficiency
- This information relates to the priority assigned to visits on this location by the scheduling engine. Priority can be set either at the track level or at the task type level, or a combination of both.
Track: this numeric field indicates the priority of the track relative to all the other locations. 1 is the highest priority and priority decreases with increasing values. The default priority is set to 100.
Task Type Prefixes: selection of task type prefixes that should be considered by the scheduling engine as a priority for the current location.
Proficiency Factor: this numeric field indicates the proficiency factor of the track. The Proficiency Factor value must be set within the range of 0.001 and 1000000.
Track Proficiency Exception Period: this table indicates the start date, and end date of the proficiency of individual tracks, when the proficiency factor changes due to manpower fluctuations throughout the year.
The priority information is used by the scheduling engine to place visits on tracks. Visits will be placed based on the track and task type priority of each location as well as other constraints such as extraction rules or yield. If a visit cannot be placed on a specific track, they are placed in the overflow track.
If both Track Priority and Task Type Priority Prefixes information is present, Track Priority will take precedence over Task Type Priority Prefixes during scheduling. This means that the scheduling engine will attempt to fill visits on locations following the track priority order set by the user and then attempt to place visits following the task type priority prefixes list set for the location.
