Change the Windows date format

Change the default date format on your Windows computer to match the date format required in your operational data.

By default, the Windows Control Panel determines how dates are displayed across all Windows applications.
  1. Do one of the following:
    • For Windows 7, click the Start button, and then click Control Panel.
    • For Windows 10, click the Start button, then type Control Panel, and then press Enter.
  2. Do one of the following:
    • For Windows 7, click Date and Time.
    • For Windows 10, click Change date, time, or number formats.
  3. Do one of the following:
    • For Windows 7, click Change date and time, then click Yes in the User Account Control window, and then click Change calendar settings.
    • For Windows 10, go to the next step.
  4. In the Short date list, click yyyy-MM-dd, and then click OK.
